Email Alias

Source: techopedia.com

Definition - What does Email Alias mean?

An email alias refers to an email address that is associated with another destination email address. It enables using the email alias rather than the complete or original email address to send email to the corresponding email address or the recipient.

An email alias can also be referred to as virtual email address or forwarding email address.

An email alias is primarily a forwarding email address that corresponds to an email address. Typically, email alias's are created to provide an alternative an easier means to remember long and difficult email addresses. For example, the email address john.smith.junior@acme.com can have a simpler and easier email alias such as jsmith@acme.com, jsmithjnr@acme.com or even j@acme.com. All emails sent or forwarded from the email alias are sent and refer to the primary email address.

In reality, email alias doesn’t have a mailbox of its own, and instead forwards all mails to the primary email address. Email alias's are generally configured on a mail server or the mail service provider control panel. An email alias can be assigned to only one user/e-mail on a mail server or mail domain. However, an email address can have more than one email alias, all of which refer to the primary email address.

21 Uncommon Romantic Gestures That Would Make Any Girl Melt

Source: thoughtcatalog.com

1. Play with her hair while the two of you are watching TV. It doesn’t have to be complex, just a little light head touching/hair-messing-with will put her into a near-meditative state.
2. Get your dessert to-go at the restaurant so the two of you can eat it at home while watching a movie/your favorite TV show.
3. Instead of just asking her where she wants to go for dinner — because you know that she loves when you put in the effort to choose, but is really picky when it comes to what she wants — give her three options that you want to go to (including one or two you haven’t tried before, if possible). It’s the best of both worlds.
4. If you spend the night at her place (or even if you share the place) make the bed while she’s in the shower or getting ready.
5. When she’s on her way home from a big day at work, text her to be like “I’m ordering takeout from [insert her favorite place here] and opening a bottle of wine. What would you like?”
6. If she’s wearing really nice heels for a night out, offer to grab a taxi as you’re about to head home so she doesn’t have to navigate the treacherous stairs of the metro after a long night.
7. Offer to help her with one thing on her weekend to-do list if you notice she’s overwhelmed. Even just running to the grocery store to grab some basics can be an enormous help.
8. Before a trip somewhere (or just for no reason), get her a little nightgown or pajamas that are both comfortable and cute. We can always use more cute/functional sleepwear, and it’s something we rarely take the time to buy for ourselves.
9. Cup her face gently when you kiss her, especially if it’s a totally everyday, run-of-the-mill-love-ya kiss.
10. Bring her things she loves, but which are not ‘quintessentially romantic.’ A bag of Cheetos, a nice shade of nail polish you liked at the drug store, or a weird t-shirt can mean much more than roses.
11. Cuddle her unexpectedly while in public. Like, put your arm around her in an affectionate (without being over-the-top) way, and let her sort of melt into you.
12. Get the ingredients to make her favorite cocktail and have them waiting for her when she gets home.
13. One day, for no reason at all, call in sick and have her call in sick so that the two of you can spend the day together watching movies, ordering in food, and hanging out.
14. Compile a small list of fun things going on in your city that weekend, and send them to her work email on Friday morning to choose from.
15. Urge her to get the delicious-looking cheese-based dish instead of the salad, because you know she’ll just eat yours if you don’t.
16. Be protective over something small (cute protective, not controlling protective). Like if she’s about to go out and the forecast says it miiiiight rain, insist that she takes her umbrella as she’s walking out of the house.
17. Pack her a lunch for work one day and write her name on the bag in Sharpie. (Alternatively, put a little note on a napkin and put it in the bag.)
18. Attempt to help her with her makeup/beauty routine, even if you’re terrible at it. (In fact, especially if you’re terrible at it — think Justin Timberlake painting his girlfriend’s toes in the “Gone” video.) Alternative: let her test out something on you on a boring Friday night at home.
19. Convince her that you totally forgot to plan something for her birthday/your anniversary/something special, and then at the last minute be like “Sike get ready, we have reservations at 8:30,” and take her to something extra special.
20. Rub her back for no reason.
21. Start watching a show with her and be religious about only watching it when the two of you can watch it together. Waiting on an episode of Game of Thrones so you can enjoy it together is the ultimate sign of love and commitment.

Lips Are The Most Exposed Erogenous Zone, Which Makes Kissing Feel Very Good

Source: http://www.iflscience.com/

Scientists in the Netherlands have reported that we share about 80m bacteria during a passionate ten-second kiss; a finding that makes puckering up seem cringe-worthy – and downright unsanitary at the start of cold and flu season.
But take heart: we’re more likely to get sick by shaking hands throughout the day than through kissing. And the science behind this behaviour reveals that along with all of those germs, we share plenty of benefits with a partner as well.
Kissing is not all about bacterial exchange or romance. Our first experiences with love and security usually involve lip pressure and stimulation through behaviours that mimic kissing, like nursing or bottle feeding. These early events lay down important neural pathways in a baby’s brain that associate kissing with positive emotions that continue to be important in throughout his life.
Our lips are the body’s most exposed erogenous zone. Unlike in other animals, human lips are uniquely everted, meaning they purse outwardly. They are packed with sensitive nerve endings so even the slightest brush sends a cascade of information to our brains, which can feel very good.
Kissing activates a very large part of the brain associated with sensory information because we’re at work making sense of the experience in order to decide what to do next. Kisses work their magic by setting off a whirlwind of neurotransmitters and hormones through our bodies that influence how we think and feel.
Kissing codes
If there’s real “chemistry” between two people, a kiss can set the stage for a new romance. A passionate kiss puts two people in very close proximity – nose to nose. We learn about each other by engaging our sense of smell, our taste buds and sense of touch. And through that information all sorts of signals are being sent to our brain informing us about the other person. In fact, the scent of man can provide subconscious clues about his DNA to his partner.
Evolutionary psychologists at the State University of New York at Albany found that 59% of men and 66% of women say they have ended a budding relationship because a kiss didn’t go well. It’s nature’s ultimate litmus test, nudging us to be most attracted to the people that may be the best genetic partners.
Research by Swiss biologist Claus Wedekind found that women are most attracted to the scents of men who carry a different genetic code for their immune system in a region of DNA known as the major histocompatibility complex or MHC.
Scientists suspect that when a couple who carry distinctly different genetics for fighting disease, their children are likely to benefit by having a strong immune system. We may not exactly be thinking about parenthood when we connect with someone at the lips, but kissing provides clues to help us decide whether to take a relationship further. (However, it’s important to add that women who take the birth control pill show the opposite preference toward men with MHC genetics most like their own. This suggests that when we are on contraceptives, we may be fooling our bodies in more ways than we realise.)
Getting hot under the collar
Aside from helping us find a great match, kissing has other perks as well. It sets off a cascade of neural impulses that bounce between the brain and the tongue, lips, facial muscles, and skin. Billions of little nerve connections distribute information around the body, producing chemical signals that change the way we feel.
A passionate kiss can spike the neurotransmitter dopamine, which is linked to feelings of craving and desire. Oxytocin, known as the “love hormone,” fosters a sense of closeness and attachment. Adrenaline boosts our heart rate and can make us start sweating as our bodies begin to anticipate what might occur later. Cortisol, known as the stress hormone, also dips to reduce uneasiness. Blood vessels dilate, breathing can deepen, cheeks flush and our pulse quickens.
Kissing fosters the sensations we often describe when we are falling in love. In this way, a kiss can herald in a new romantic relationship. It can also solidify the strong bonds we share with family members and friends. Kisses come in many varieties and are inherently tied to the most meaningful and significant moments of our lives by providing a means to communicate beyond what words can convey.
Science has barely begun to study kissing, despite its obvious evolutionary and personal significance, but what we already know demonstrates that there’s a lot more to going on than meets the eyes – and lips

The 5 Life-Changing Traits that Will Determine Your Success in Life

Source: Speakingtree.in

When it comes to achieving remarkable success in life, everyone seems to be interested to learn the secret behind.

This is because everyone wants to be successful, but unfortunately, most people are not living the life that they desire. The truth is that everyone possesses the same potential to achieve amazing results in their lives.

The problem is whether they know how to unleash their inner potential and take the right action to accomplish their dreams. In this article, you will learn the 5 life-changing traits that will determine your success in life.

Well, the journey to success may not be an easy one. If it is easy, everyone would have been successful and living their dreams. So are you ready for it? Here are the 5 success traits you need to adopt.

1. Becoming Who You Want To Be

When we talk about living the successful life we want, we must understand that the first step to achieving it is to become the person we want to be.

For example, if your dream is to become a successful writer, then become the writer and write every single day. This is what happens to the best-selling author Jeff Goins.

He desires to be a successful writer, and what he did everyday is to write, like a real writer.

The same goes for Les Brown. He wanted to be a DJ, and so his mentor tells him to practice every day being a DJ. And eventually, opportunity knocks and Les Brown got a chance to be a DJ.

Always remember that it is always better to prepare for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity, and not be prepared.

You have to become the person you dream to be before your dream can come true to you. This is why professional athletes train every day and why actors learn to act. They know that they need to be the person they aspire to be, before their dreams can come to them.

2. Enlarging Your Vision

Most people think small and have small vision. If you want to be successful, you must think big. Just like what Donald Trump has to say, “You are going to be thinking anyway, so you might as well just think big.”

Your thinking is free, and it does not cost you any money. However, your thoughts will largely determine the results you get in your life. In fact, the way you think is one of the most important factors that will make you or break you.

Imagine someone thinking small and thinking negatively every moment, do you think this is going to support him or her to be successful? Not likely, because your thinking will determine your decision. And your decision will affect your actions.

Thus, when it comes to getting great results, you must think big. And when you think big, you will get inspired, and you will be presented with all kinds of opportunities to grow. This is why thinking big matters.

3. Mastering Your Skills

Are you doing your work the best you can or is it the best way to do it? Think about it. You have to commit to improvement and master your skills.

In order to do great work, you must master the skills and become the best in what you do. Successful people are successful because they are doing a great work, no matter what industry they are in.

How do you think Michael Jordan became the top basketball player in the industry? Why did Mohammad Ali achieve outstanding success in boxing? How was Steve Jobs able to manage a company that changed the world with revolutionary products?

The answer is simple; they all are the masters of their games. They know what they do and how to do it. And they learn to master their skills and become outstanding in their work. This is why people can produce amazing results in life.

You have to do the same. Commit to becoming a master in what you do. If you want to be a best-selling author, master the art of writing and improve your skills every day. If you want to build a multi-million dollar business, learn the art of managing your business and become a master in what you do.

4. The Ability to Bounce Back

The first thing that comes to most people’s mind when they think about success is the amazing results people produced. In fact, what most people don’t see are the failures and setbacks behind the success.

Do you know that you can never be successful if you have never failed before? It is said that failure is the mother of all successes. When you fail, you learn the most. When you fail, you will be more experienced.

Bill Gates says that success is a lousy teacher, it seduces people into thinking they can’t lose. And Jack Ma from Alibaba once told the audience in a seminar to study and learn from other people’s failure, not from their success.

This is why you have to adopt the ability to bounce back. It does not matter if you fail right now. As long as you keep improving, learning and doing what you are supposed to do, you will eventually reach the tipping point, and results will come to you.

You have to take setbacks and failures as lessons that will catapult your success higher. It is the only way to level up faster.

Here’s a quote to perfectly describe this point, it was the movie, Rocky Balboa, “It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”

5. Determination and Consistency

People fail because they do not have the determination to move on. They throw in the towel, and they quit somewhere along the process.

Do you know that whenever you decided to quit and give up, you will be losing all the effort and time you have poured in before? It is a big waste of energy and time. Thus, do not give up until you reach your goals.

Consistency is another trait that most people never embrace. You should know that success will never come to you overnight. Rome was not built in a day and so does your success.

Unless you have the resources, it is near to impossible for overnight success to occur. It takes real work to reach your dreams. And you have to do it over the long term. This is why consistency is important.

And because consistency matters, you just need to commit yourself to take 5 small actions each day. And within a year, you will have 1825 small victories. And these cumulative small victories are what will truly transform your life.

So if you want to be successful and live your dream, be determined, never give up and keep taking action every day.

Conclusion

Living your dreams and achieving outstanding success in life is not easy, but it is very possible for anyone who is committed to it. As long as you adopt the right habits and learn the traits of the success, you will make it in the end.

Why Milo and the Calf?

To become the greatest wrestler in Greece, to win six Olympic laurels, Milo had to train like the rest of us.  His method?  Borrow a new born calf and carry it around Croton day after day, week after week, and month after month.  As the calf grew, so did Milo’s strength, until he was the strongest wrestler in Greece and could carry the now full grown bull upon his back.
What did he do once the bull was grown? He ate it.
That’s what we’re about here, carrying the weight, getting in the miles, doing the work, day in and day out, making small gains, occasionally dropping the calf, but always picking it back up.  It’s a simple enterprise – do the work, get better.  At sport, at life, at everything.

11 Ways for You to Become More Alkaline

When it comes to your health, your overall pH balance is extremely important. This determines whether your body is in a healthy state of alkalinity or overly acidic and possibly in danger. Experts say that disease cannot exist in an alkaline state.

What is pH?

The letters pH stand for the potential of hydrogen, which is a measurement of the hydrogen ion concentration in the body.  The pH scale is a scale ranging from 1-14 with 1 being the most acidic, 7 being neutral and 14 being the most alkaline. Our ideal pH reading is 7.3 – 7.45 which is slightly basic, or alkaline. Unfortunately, due to processed foods and chemical rich environments, many of us are too acidic these days.

How can you test your pH?

This is very simple! You can test your pH with inexpensive pH strips that you can buy online or in health food stores. You simply tear off a piece and put it in your mouth allowing the saliva to touch it for two-three seconds. Next, compare it to the colour chart provided and see where you’re at! This is best done first thing in the morning, before you eat or drink anything. Food and drinks can alter the pH reading of the saliva.
Another way to test your pH, which most health experts believe is a little more accurate of total body pH is by testing your urine. This also should be done first thing in the morning. The first reading can usually be a little more acidic because the body is clearing out acid while you sleep at night. So generally the second urine test of the morning is most accurate.

Why should we test our pH?

It’s good to get a general idea of your pH reading because it is a great indicator of health status in the body. If overly acidic, you may have some underlying issues that need to be addressed. Some diseases and disorders that are associated with over-acidity are diabetes, obesity, migraines, cataracts, cancer, arthritis, stroke, gout, morning sickness, allergies and osteoporosis. Addressing over-acidity is vital to bringing the body back into balance, as every single system in the body is affected by too much acid.

Diet, lifestyle and pH

Everything we eat or drink affects our pH. Some foods make us more acidic while others make us more alkaline. In general, animal based foods such as meat and dairy products are acidic, while plant-based foods like fruits and veggies are alkaline. We do need both acid and alkaline foods in our diet, though the convenience factor of fast-foods and processed foods have made many of us overly acidic.
Environmental factors come into play as well. Household cleaning products like soap, detergent, air fresheners, glass cleaners and other various cleaning agents all contain chemicals that are toxic to the body and contribute to acidity.
It’s the same with conventional bath and body products that contain not-so-friendly chemicals and toxins in them as well. If they go directly onto your skin, which is your body’s biggest organ, than they can be some of the biggest offenders. Try switching over to more natural and safe products. There are some great ones out on the market now!
Our bodies are amazing and fierce when it comes to protecting the pH levels. Since our body must maintain a slightly alkaline level to survive, the body will start pulling alkaline minerals out of the bones to buffer the acidity else-where. Amazing survival instinct, but this can lead to osteoporosis and other health challenges like fatigue.

How to become more alkaline:

  1. Drink a fresh green juice every single day.
  2. Drink the juice of half a lemon squeezed in a glass of warm water first thing in the morning (citrus fruits seem acidic but are actually very alkaline!)
  3. Eat a diet full of nutritious and alkaline vegetables and fruits.
  4. Stay away from all processed foods and fried foods which are extremely acidic.
  5. Avoid refined sugar like the plague, fresh fruits are okay.
  6. Drink quality water such as purified water or even better, fresh spring water (tap water usually has fluoride in it and is very toxic to the body, which your dentist may not tell you.)
  7. Use natural household cleaning agents such as diluted apple cider vinegar.
  8. Use natural bath and body product such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, toothpaste, mouthwash, lotions, facial creams and make-up. Commercial ones are made with chemicals that have a massive toxic load to the body and make you acidic.
  9. Eat more plant-based foods and opt for only grass-fed, organic animal products.
  10. Include more wheat grass, barley grass, kelp, cayenne, chlorella and spirulina in your diet.
  11. Mix ½ tsp of baking soda in a glass of water and drink daily .This may be the most effective and easiest way to bring your pH level up in alkalinity, so give it a try.
So where does your pH level score at? Buy some strips at your local health food store and see where you’re at. Leave a comment below and let me know. We’re all on this health quest together!

Your Perception IS Your Reality

“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” – Albert Einstein

“Everything you see or hear or experience in any way at all is specific to you. You create a universe by perceiving it, so everything in the universe you perceive is specific to you.” – Douglas Adams

Take a minute to scan your surroundings. Are you in a familiar place or somewhere new? Stop reading this, and just look around you. Pick out an object, maybe something you hadn’t noticed before, and focus your attention on it. If you really focus, it’ll get brighter and more “real” than it was when it was just an unnoticed piece of the background noise of your life. Now, try to view your surroundings from the point of the object. Some people can do this with no effort, and for others, it takes some concentration. Depending on how adept you are at focusing your concentration, you may notice a slight shift in your perception – a weird jump in realty, where you are suddenly viewing the world from a different perspective.

Did it work? Whether you noticed anything or not, your perception did change, albeit for an instant. It’s important to be conscious of your perception, because if you’re not, someone else will create it for you.

Trick the Eye in French

Things aren’t always what they seem. Marketers and magicians rely on this fact to make you see things – the way they want you too see them. Artists do too.

You may have seen Julian Beever’s amazing pavement drawings. He utilizes the Trompe l’oeil technique, which means “trick the eye” in French. He uses his drawing stills to create a perception. Like an optical illusion, our mind attempts to fill in the details of something it either thinks it already knows, or doesn’t quite understand. This works out fine, when that’s the intention – momentarily letting our world be shaped for fun. But wandering through life, letting others create your perceptions, can make for a very unfulfilling life.

Change Your Story, Change Your Perception, Change Your Life

We all get caught up in our stories. Most of us think we are our stories. It’s when those stories take on a life of their own, and that life isn’t the one we want, that things start to suck.

Think about the story you’re living right now. Who wrote it? Did you consciously decide to create the reality you’re living now, or was it mainly shaped by your parents, friends, spouse, school, or the media? If you don’t like the story your living, then change the perception. Envision how you’d write the next chapter of your story. Better yet, actually sit down and write it. Focus your perception on creating a new reality, one where you are in charge of the story. Take back the job as screenwriter and director, and stop just being an actor (unless you’re Rachel McAdams – I rather enjoy her acting).

Everything begins with a decision – decide now to be in charge of your own perception of reality. Because if you don’t, there are plenty of folks whose sole purpose in life is to craft that perception for you. Do you trust them to have your best interest in mind…?
